  you should try gambas or merou dish. It was delicious. I don't recommend pizza or lasagne

  Pizzaiolo Haramous has become more and more expensive since when I first went. It used to have a much friendlier staff. I ordered a Ceasar salad tonight (DJF 2,750 ~ $15.70) and requested a glass of water. I was told they didn't offer glasses of water and they brought a 1.5L bottle to my table. I told them that I didn't want such a large bottle just a cup. The sad part is I have seen them give other people just a glass of water. It has been the third time in a row they refused to give me a cup. Later when I was halfway done with my meal they brought a glass of water BUT when I went to pay they charged me DJF 600 (~ $3.40) for a 1.5L bottle that I never got. I had to disagree before they took the charge off. Their food overall is pretty good quality. Just the prices and hospitality are going in opposite directions.

  This place is located inside a Villa compound not far from the President of Djibouti's house. It's convenient if you live in the compound. You pay quite a bit extra for this convenience. I have started to like this place less and less. They recently updated their menu and added some new items. However, they also increased the prices (Djibouti Franks {DJF}) on all the items. The average Large pizza costs around 4,000 DJF ($23 US) and is about the size of a medium Pizza Hut Pizza ($12). Their pizza seems to only come in one crust option (thin). The average beer is around 1,000 DJF ($6). The local beer is St George and costs about 300 DJF ($2.40) per bottle at the grocery store. I bought a Corona and they charged me 1,800 DJF ($10.20). I'm not exactly a big guy (178 cm & 95 kg) and I can eat an entire Large pizza in one sitting. Their food quality is Mediocre and definitely not worth the price they charge. Some of the staff is friendly if you're a regular. I have have been billed twice for some items. So make sure you get a receipt for everything you buy and check it carefully. I recommend to have the receipt signed "paid" upon completion of the transaction. Also, bring cash and make sure it's Djibouti Franks or you'll get taken for ride on the exchange. If you pay with Visa, expect to pay an additional 3% surcharge. My advice is to avoid this place. Find somewhere with better food and better prices.

  First time there, fish and chips were recommended, actually very good and they know how to serve a Corona, with a lime not lemon.
